About PDF to SVG

How PDF to SVG Export Works

The tool renders each PDF page at your chosen DPI, then wraps the result in an SVG container with the raster image embedded as a data URI. The SVG preserves exact pixel dimensions and scales cleanly at any display size.

One page produces one SVG file. Multiple pages get zipped. Everything runs in your browser — no upload, no server.

When SVG Output Makes Sense

SVG wraps your PDF page in a format that web and design tools handle natively.

Web Embedding

SVG files can be embedded directly in HTML, styled with CSS, and scaled to any container size without pixelation. Perfect for putting PDF content on a website.

Design Tool Import

Figma, Sketch, Illustrator, and Inkscape all open SVG natively. Import PDF pages as SVG layers for annotation, overlay, or composition work.

Responsive Display

SVG viewBox scaling means a single file looks crisp on a phone screen and a 4K monitor. No need to serve multiple resolutions.

Programmatic Use

SVG is XML. You can manipulate it with JavaScript, embed it in React components, or process it with server-side tools. PDF is none of those things.

Raster Image Inside, SVG Wrapper Outside

To be clear: this tool embeds a rasterized PNG of each PDF page inside an SVG container. It’s not a vector trace of the PDF content. You get the SVG format benefits (web embedding, design tool compatibility, viewBox scaling) with a faithful rendering of everything on the page, including text, images, and complex graphics.

For truly vector SVG output, you’d need the original design files. But for most practical uses — web display, design mockups, responsive embedding — the raster-in-SVG approach works perfectly.

Privacy: All Processing Is Local

Your PDF is rendered and wrapped in your browser. Nothing gets uploaded. Close the tab and the data disappears.
