How PDF Repair Works
A damaged PDF usually has a corrupted internal structure — broken cross-reference tables, malformed objects, or truncated streams. OxygenPDF loads the file with lenient parsing, recovers what it can, and saves a clean, well-formed PDF.
The tool uses pdf-lib’s error-tolerant parser, which skips invalid objects instead of crashing. It rebuilds the document structure from scratch, producing a file that conforms to the PDF specification and opens reliably in standard readers.

PDF corruption happens more often than you’d expect, and the cause is usually mundane.

A flaky connection cuts out mid-download. The file is incomplete and won’t open. Repair recovers the intact pages.
