Why convert a Kindle book to PDF?
MOBI and AZW3 are Amazon's Kindle formats — great on a Kindle, awkward everywhere else. A PDF prints cleanly, opens on any device, and archives permanently. This tool reads the PalmDB container your Kindle book is stored in, extracts the chapters and images, and re-paginates them onto standard A4 or Letter pages.

Which Kindle files work?
The tool accepts .mobi, .azw and .azw3 files. AZW3 (KF8) books are read through their modern HTML layer, so formatting survives better than with older MOBI6 files. Combo files that contain both layers are handled automatically.
DRM-protected books cannot be converted — the text records are encrypted and there is no legitimate way to read them here. If your book came from Amazon with DRM, you will see a clear error instead of a garbled PDF.
Tips for the best result
Pick Letter if you plan to print on US paper, A4 elsewhere. Bump the font size up a point or two for comfortable reading — e-book text is usually set smaller than print. Very large books (hundreds of chapters) take a moment to paginate; the progress bar shows where it is.
