Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. The PDF is parsed and the form is rendered entirely in your browser. Your file and your form data stay on your device.

What types of form fields does it support?

Text inputs, multi-line text areas, checkboxes, dropdown menus, radio buttons, and multi-select lists. Buttons and signature fields are skipped since they don’t make sense in a web form.

Will my filled PDF work in Adobe Acrobat?

Yes. The output is a standard PDF with AcroForm fields. It opens and works in any PDF reader that supports forms.

Does it work with password-protected PDFs?

Yes. If the PDF is encrypted, you’ll be prompted for the password. Decryption happens in your browser.

Form Detection and Label Resolution

PDF form fields have internal names that are often meaningless — machine-generated strings like "field_12a" or "Text1". OxygenPDF tries to make sense of them. It checks the field names against a database of known form mappings (IRS forms, common government documents) and applies proper labels.

When there’s no known mapping, it falls back to humanizing the field name: underscores become spaces, camelCase gets split, and abbreviations get expanded where possible. You can also manually switch between detected mappings or the raw field names.

Your Form Data Never Leaves Your Device
