Are the TOC entries clickable?

Yes, when 'clickable links' is on. Each row gets a standard /GoTo link annotation that jumps to its page in any PDF reader. Turn it off for a print-only document.

What if my PDF has no bookmarks?

Choose 'detect headings' to scan the text for large or bold headings, or 'page list' to start from one entry per page and edit the titles yourself.

Can I put the TOC after the cover page?

Yes — set 'insert before page' to 2 (or any position). Page numbers and link targets are offset automatically so they still point at the right pages.

Do the printed page numbers stay correct?

Yes. The tool accounts for the TOC pages it inserts, so the number printed next to each entry matches the physical page a reader lands on.

An optional small 'Contents' anchor in the corner of every target page that jumps back to the table of contents — useful for manuals and reference documents.

Can I edit the entries before generating?

Yes. Every loaded entry is editable: rename it, change its target page, reorder it, indent it up to three levels, or delete it. You can also add rows by hand.

A real page, not just a sidebar

PDF bookmarks live in a side panel that many readers hide by default — and they vanish entirely when the document is printed. A table of contents page is different: it is part of the document itself, visible on paper and on screen, and it can still be clickable.

This tool inserts one or more styled TOC pages into your PDF. Entries come from the document's existing bookmarks, from headings detected in the text, or from a plain page list you edit by hand — so it works whether the file already has structure or none at all.

Clickable on screen, readable on paper

With clickable links enabled, every row carries an invisible link annotation that jumps to its page — the same /GoTo mechanism Acrobat uses. The printed page numbers stay correct too: the tool offsets every destination and label by the number of TOC pages it inserts, so 'page 34' still means page 34.

Turn on back-links and each target page gets a small return anchor in the corner that jumps back to the contents — handy for manuals and reports people dip into rather than read straight through.
