About Excel to PDF
The PDF Matches What You Already See in the Spreadsheet
A spreadsheet already knows its own shape. It knows which cells are merged into one heading, how wide you dragged each column, and which columns you hid before sending the file along. This tool reads all three straight out of the .xlsx, .xls, or .ods file and carries them into the PDF, so a title merged across three columns stays merged, a column you widened for a long description stays wide, and a hidden “internal notes” column never shows up in the output.
None of that is detected or guessed. The file format states its own merge ranges, column widths, and hidden flags as plain data, and the PDF is a straightforward rendering of what the spreadsheet already declares about itself.
What Actually Carries Over
A lot of Excel to PDF converters flatten everything into plain, unstyled text. Here’s what survives this one.
A 2009 .xls File Still Opens
The legacy binary .xls format trips up plenty of browser-based converters that only read the newer .xlsx format. This one reads .xlsx, .xls, and .ods the same way, so an old spreadsheet dug out of an archive converts just like one saved yesterday.
Every Sheet, or Just the One You Pick
A five-tab workbook converts all five sheets by default, each starting on its own page and labeled with its sheet name. Need only one tab? A sheet picker lets you choose.
Formulas Hand Over Their Answer
A cell holding =B2*(1-C2) doesn’t print the formula. It prints the number the formula already worked out, the same value you’d see looking at the sheet.
Currency and Dates Read Like Currency and Dates
$1,234.50 prints as $1,234.50, not a raw number with the formatting stripped off. A date cell prints as a date, not the five-digit serial number Excel stores underneath it.
How It Compares
Most Excel to PDF tools cover the basics. The gaps show up in which file formats they accept and what happens to your spreadsheet along the way.

A Refusal Instead of a Frozen Tab
A spreadsheet with 200,000 rows crammed into one column, the kind of export nobody actually meant to turn into a single PDF, doesn’t lock up the tab. The sheet’s cell count gets checked before any font measuring or page drawing starts, and an oversized sheet is refused with a message naming which sheet it is and by how much it’s over. A normal report with twenty columns comfortably runs past ten thousand rows before it gets anywhere near that ceiling.
The Spreadsheet Never Leaves Your Browser
A payroll sheet or an internal budget is exactly the kind of file you don’t want sitting on someone else’s server while it converts. This tool reads the workbook and builds the PDF entirely on your device. Nothing uploads, and closing the tab clears whatever was there.
