About Merge PDF
How PDF Merging Works
You have five PDFs. Your boss wants one. That’s the whole point of PDF merging — it takes separate files and stitches them together into a single document, page by page.
OxygenPDF handles this in your browser. Drop your files in, drag them into the right order, hit merge. You don’t need an account, and nothing gets uploaded. The combined PDF downloads straight to your device.
Common Reasons to Merge PDFs
People merge PDFs for all kinds of reasons, but the problem is always the same: too many files, not enough patience to send them one by one.
Financial Paperwork
Combine invoices, receipts, and bank statements into a single file for expense reports, tax prep, or auditor requests.
Legal Documents
Courts and compliance teams want one document, not five loose files. Merge contracts with their amendments and signature pages.
Academic Submissions
University applications and journal submissions usually need everything in one PDF. Merge transcripts, letters, and your personal statement.
Business Reports
Pull together charts, narratives, and appendices from different departments into a single quarterly or board report.
Sequential, Interleave, and Duplex Scan Modes
Sequential mode is the default. File A’s pages come first, then File B’s, then File C’s. Straightforward — just stick the documents together end-to-end.
Interleave mode alternates pages across files: page 1 from A, page 1 from B, page 2 from A, page 2 from B. Useful when you have parallel documents like question sheets and answer keys. There’s also a duplex scan fix that reverses even-numbered files during interleaving — built for when you’ve scanned the front sides of a stack, flipped it over, and scanned the backs.
How It Compares
PDF merging is a common feature. What differs is how much control you get over the process, and where your files end up during it.

Your Documents Never Leave Your Device
The PDFs people merge tend to be exactly the files you don’t want on someone else’s server: tax returns, contracts, medical records, HR paperwork. Most online merge tools upload your documents for processing. Even if they promise deletion afterward, you’re trusting a third party with files you probably wouldn’t email to a stranger.
OxygenPDF runs the merge entirely in your browser. Your files stay on your machine, and closing the tab wipes everything. If GDPR, HIPAA, or an NDA restricts how you handle document contents, client-side processing sidesteps the problem entirely.
