How PDF to PowerPoint Conversion Works

This tool renders every page of your PDF as a high-resolution PNG image, then places each image full-bleed on its own slide in a .pptx file. The visual layout is preserved exactly — fonts, colors, charts, and spacing all look identical to the original because each slide is literally a picture of the page.

The trade-off is editability: slide content is an image, not text boxes. You can add text, shapes, and annotations on top in PowerPoint, Keynote, or Google Slides, but you cannot edit the original wording. If you need editable text, use the PDF to Slide tool instead — it rebuilds pages as native, editable elements.

Choosing the Right DPI

The DPI setting controls how sharp each slide image is. 150 DPI is the right default for on-screen presenting — crisp on projectors and monitors while keeping the file small. Use 300 DPI when the deck will be printed or when pages contain fine detail like small text or dense diagrams. 72 DPI produces the smallest file for quick sharing where fidelity matters less.

Higher DPI means a larger .pptx. A 20-page deck at 300 DPI can be ten times the size of the same deck at 150 DPI, so pick the lowest setting that still looks sharp on your target screen.
