About PDF to PNG
How PDF to PNG Export Works
Each PDF page is rendered at your chosen DPI and saved as a lossless PNG image. No quality slider here — PNG is lossless by definition, so what you see is what you get. One page produces one PNG file. Multiple pages download as a ZIP.
The rendering runs in your browser. Your PDF never goes to a server. Pick your pages, pick your DPI, and download.
When PNG Is the Right Choice
PNG exists for situations where JPEG compression would ruin the output. If you need sharp text, clean lines, or transparency, PNG is the format.
Documentation & Screenshots
Technical docs, code samples, and UI mockups have sharp edges and small text. PNG preserves every pixel without compression artifacts.
Design Assets
Extract diagrams, illustrations, or icons from a PDF design deck. PNG keeps colors accurate and edges clean for reuse in design tools.
Archival Quality
When you need a pixel-perfect record of a PDF page — for legal evidence, regulatory compliance, or long-term archiving — lossless PNG is the safe bet.
Image Editing
PNG is the starting point for further editing in Photoshop, GIMP, or Figma. Unlike JPEG, you won’t pile compression artifacts on top of your edits.

DPI and File Size
PNG files are larger than JPEGs because they don’t throw away data. At 300 DPI, a full-page PNG can be 2–10 MB depending on the content. If file size matters more than lossless quality, use the PDF to JPG tool instead.
72 DPI works for quick screen previews. 150 DPI is good for documentation. 300 DPI gives you print-quality output.
Privacy: Processed Locally
Your PDF is rendered in your browser. Nothing gets uploaded to a server. Close the tab and the temporary image data is gone. This matters when your PDFs contain confidential information, proprietary designs, or personal data.
