No. The page box expands outward — your content keeps its exact size and position. The margin is new space added beside it, never space taken from it.

Yes. The output is a standard PDF with wider pages and vector line art, so any annotation app treats it like a normal document — pen, highlighter, and eraser all work.

What is the Cornell template?

A study layout with a narrow cue column beside the content edge for keywords and questions, ruled lines in the main area for notes, and a summary band along the bottom for review.

How wide can the margin be?

Between 100 and 350 pt — roughly 1.4 to 4.9 inches. 220 pt (about 3 inches) is a comfortable default for handwritten notes.

Does it work on password-protected PDFs?

Lossless by design

Nothing is rasterized, scaled, or re-compressed. The page's media box simply grows and vector lines are drawn in the new area — text stays selectable, images keep their resolution, and the file works everywhere a normal PDF does. Line colors are deliberately quiet — blue-gray, warm brown, green, or light gray — so the template guides your pen without competing with the page.
